TOKYO, JAPAN — NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT Group (NYSE: NTT) announced today that it was named “Wholesale Operator of the Year” at the Asia Communication Awards 2016 in Singapore on June 1.
Launched in 2011 the Asia Communication Awards recognize the companies and individual driving the success of the Asian based telecom industry to a global audience. Since their launch, the awards have gathered an impressive following and are now truly a respected mark of achievement in the industry. Organized by Total Telecom, the Asia Communication Awards are modelled on the phenomenally successful World Communication Awards, mirroring their fierce independence to ensure true leaders are rewarded. The fifth annual Asia Communication Awards were presented to outstanding carriers and vendors in Asia by Total Telecom, the region’s major telecom publishing group. A panel of telecom experts selected winners in 16 categories.
NTT Com was named Wholesale Operator of the Year for the third time. The award recognizes that NTT Com showed a strong commitment to investing in technologies like IPv6 and Software-Defined Networking (SDN), as well as in customer service and satisfaction through its global network operation centers. “A high customer retention rate speaks volumes,” said one of the judges. “NTT Com’s entry shows that it has the scale and also the drive to stay ahead of the competition.” Evidence of new customer wins during the entry period also impressed the panel.
