Global IP Network Executive to Provide Insight on the North American Wholesale IP Market
New York, NY and Toronto, Canada – September 30, 2015 – NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the global data and IP services arm of Fortune Global 500 telecom leader NTT (NYSE: NTT), today announced its participation at the Capacity North America 2015 Conference taking place in Toronto, Canada, September 30 and October 1, 2015. Steered by industry thought leaders, the conference provides attendees with unique insight on challenges and opportunities within the rapidly changing North American wholesale IP market.
Michael Wheeler, executive vice president of the NTT Communications Global IP Network at NTT America, will join industry leaders for an executive interview and panel discussion on “Mergers and Acquisitions – Who’s Next?” on Wednesday, September 30, at 10:20 am local time. The session will focus on the impact, if any, of recent consolidation in the wholesale industry in North America and around the world, and how companies can continue to grow looking at alternatives outside of mergers & acquisitions.
NTT Com is in a unique position to address the impact of mergers and acquisitions as the company has made several announcements within the North American market as well as internationally, including the acquisitions of majority stakes in RagingWire, e-shelter and Cyber CSF.
Still, much of the growth in NTT Com’s Global IP Network has been achieved organically, with its long term success built on innovation, investment and customer service.
“Global carriers are facing a unique set of challenges and opportunities in the North American wholesale market and beyond,” said Mr. Wheeler. “Service providers can grow through mergers and acquisitions but they can also achieve sustainable growth by differentiating themselves on several levels,” he added. “Global carriers such as NTT Com with worldwide network scale, industry expertise, and the financial capability to support future growth have a distinct advantage in this demanding and competitive market.”
NTT Com was recently shortlisted for several Capacity Global Carrier Awards 2015, including Best Global (Data), Best North American, Best Asian and Best pan-European Wholesale Carrier, recognizing innovation, vision and excellence in the global wholesale industry. NTT Com is the only Tier-1 wholesale provider shortlisted in these four strategic categories. The winners will be announced at the Capacity Europe 2015 Conference on November 3 in Paris.
